Weekly Round-Up: 4 Readings on Education, Brooklyn, Solitude, and Writing Down Goals

My family has just got back from five weeks in the US and a week in the small channel island of Alderney and is now back home in Germany.  Needless to say there hasn't been much time to write so here's a smattering of what I've been reading this week

1. I am re-reading an old favorite, May Sarton's ever-wise Journal of A Solitude in which she writes, "Suffering feels like failure, but it is actually a door into growth." and "...it is the masculine in a woman and the feminine in the man that proves creative."

2. This article on NPR Ed says writing down goals can help clarify emotional blocks toward one's dreams

3. Higher education is going to look completely different for our kids.  Here's an article from The World Economic Forum on just what that's going to look like.

4. I've lived in Minneapolis, New York, London, rural England, and Germany so I'm always interested to read about how people design their multi-cultural lives.  This New York Times article about Brooklyn Ex-Pats features a few families making the tough decision to move to the suburbs
